Biographical Note

Lizzie Williams specialises in general travel in Africa and the Middle East, and has written several guide books and websites. Originally from London but now based in Cape Town, she has travelled extensively and has visited 20 African countries. She has written www.overlandafrica.com a leading website on the overland industry in Africa, contributed Africa destination guides to US websites including www.travel.yahoo.com and www.tripz.com, and written Africa Overland, a souvenir coffee table book on the Kenya to Cape overland route. She has extensive working knowledge of the tourism industry in Africa, and has produced numerous product brochures, and has had travel articles in various publications from in-flights to travel related magazines in the UK, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Previous jobs have included Africa and Middle East editor, and Overland & 4x4 Expert, for the activity and adventure website www.ifyouexplore.com, and content editor for www.go2africa.com, a leading website on travel in east and southern Africa. Commissions have been as varied as wildlife, geography, brochure blurbs, and book reviews. Her work is accurate, entertaining and where appropriate humorous and she is stickler for useless and useful facts and meeting deadlines.
